Working Together for You

Sometimes we find ourselves struggling with an issue that prevents us from living the life we want for ourselves. Or we just feel that something isn’t right, but we don’t know why. This is a perfectly natural part of life, from time to time, we all need warm and compassionate support from someone who understands, and can help us get back to ourselves.

Hello, I’m Leih, and I am an integrative psychotherapist, based in Chester, offering online or in person support to individual adults and young people on a short and long term basis. You can expect a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, where together we can work towards finding ways for you to feel empowered whatever your circumstances.

I can help with a range of issues you may be facing, including stress, anxiety or depression. You may find it hard to maintain relationships, you may be struggling with the loss of a loved one, or adapting to a major change in your life. Whatever it is, counselling can give you the time and a safe space to explore your emotions in more depth. This is how therapy can help.

Counselling in Chester

What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?

In our fast-paced, hectic lives, it can be difficult to find the time to stop, think and reflect on where we are and where we would like to be. Counselling and Psychotherapy gives you the time and space to focus on you, how you are feeling and what is preventing you from living your life to the fullest. In my safe, non-judgemental space, we can explore your emotions in depth so you can understand them and yourself better. I am here to offer empathy, warmth and a safe therapeutic space to help you gently explore and challenge your thoughts and emotions so you can make more authentic choices.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind similar to day-dreaming. People find hypnotherapy a deeply relaxing and pleasant experience. Often behavioural patterns, emotions and beliefs are stored in the subconscious part of the mind, which means they can remain just outside our awareness, on the edge of the conscious mind. Although they remain in the subconscious they can still affect our behaviour and emotions. In a relaxed hypnotic state of focused attention a hypnotherapist guides clients to connect with these parts of themselves and resolve unhelpful thoughts, feelings and actions.

About Me

If you've found your way here, a warm welcome to my website. Sometimes, we all need a space where we can be completely accepted, heard and understood. I know I have, and the therapy I received empowered me to navigate some difficult life challenges. My wish is for you to experience the same kind of life-changing support I received.

My intention is for you to benefit from a mix of evidence based therapeutic practice, genuine rapport and a willingness to explore whatever challenges you bring along, while I hold a confidential, non- judgemental, boundaried, empathetic space for you to explore your options.

My background involves over twenty years’ experience teaching and caring for students and vulnerable adults. This led me to want to work with people counselling on a one -to- one and group therapy basis.

Leih, Psychotherapist

After completing my counselling and psychotherapy training, I became interested in how hypnotherapy works well alongside counselling. This prompted me to train as a clinical hypnotherapist, so I could use it to provide the best support possible for my clients.

I have volunteered at several charities, including Mind National Mental Health Charity, offering face to face counselling.

I am committed to regularly engaging in training so I can further develop my practice. I adhere to the code of ethics outlined by the BACP, NSCP and NCH. I regularly attend monthly supervision to help me reflect on and develop my practice work with my clients.
